Why Your Top 25 Matter More Than You Think

You're about to build a list of 500+ names.

But here's the secret: Not all 500 are equal.

Your job is to know the difference—and focus your energy accordingly.

The 25-200-275 Framework

Your Top 25 (Legacy Partners)
People who already believe in you deeply. Most likely to give immediately, become your connection team, and refer others.

Your Next 200 (High-Priority)
Strong relationships with good potential. Christians who understand missions, family, close friends.

Your Final 275 (Broad Network)
Real connections with lower probability. Distant acquaintances, old classmates, casual connections.

All 500 belong on your list. But you reach out in order of priority.

The Connection Team Concept

Your goal with the Top 25: recruit 10-15 to become Connection Team members who:

  1. Give monthly support ($50-100+)

  2. Pray regularly (weekly)

  3. Refer you to 5-10 people in their network

Do the math:

  • 10 connection team members

  • Each introduces you to 5 referrals

  • = 50 warm introductions beyond your original 500

This is how you multiply your network.

How to Identify Your Top 25

Ask yourself:

Belief: Do they already believe in my calling?

Influence: Are they well-connected? Would others listen to their recommendation?

Commitment: Have they shown up for me before? Will they follow through?

If someone scores high on all three, they're Top 25 material.

The Outreach Sequence

Week 1-2: Contact Top 25

Week 3-4: Recruit Connection Team from those who say yes

Week 5-8: Contact next 50-100 high-priority names

Week 9-12: Continue through next 100

Month 4+: Work through broader network + referrals

Start strong. Build momentum. Expand systematically.

The 80/20 Rule

Here's what I've observed: 80% of your support typically comes from 20% of your contacts.

That's roughly 100 people from your 500-name list.

You don't know which 100 ahead of time—that's why you need the full 500.

But you can make educated guesses. Focus there first.

Why This Prevents Burnout

When you start with your Top 25 and get 10-15 supporters quickly, you gain confidence and momentum.

That carries you through harder conversations later.

Start strong. Stay strong.
